The 11-kilometre hiking trail leading from Vrbnik to Sršćica Cove and back is a true paradise for nature lovers who enjoy walking by the sea. The typical island seascape reveals several coves along the way, each one enchanting in its own way.
The Sršćica Trail begins in the quaint town of Vrbnik, perched on a 49-metre cliff and famous for its nine-century history, vineyards and cultural heritage. Leaving the town of narrow alleys, the trail takes you right to the sea, offering incredible turquoise views of hidden coves with translucent sea, surrounded by pine trees and Mediterranean vegetation, perfect for a short break in a zen ambiance. You will notice a number of caves, which have been used for centuries to store tools and food. They were also shelters for fishermen and boats, but also for pirates, Uskok warriors and thieves, especially during times of war. Take some time to explore them, listen to the sound of the waves and take in the scent of Mediterranean herbs.
Follow the colourful coves of the eastern coast of Krk, including Potovošće, a favourite swimming spot for locals and visitors alike, and you will arrive at Sršćica, a charming cove perfect for enjoying the peace and quiet of unspoilt nature. Soak up the magnetic scenery of the Vinodol Channel and the gems of the Crikvenica-Vinodol Riviera, such as the breathtaking peaks.
Returning along the same route is a great opportunity to experience the beautiful nature from a different perspective and revisit favourite spots. The scent of scrubs and pine trees will follow you all the way to Vrbnik.
