Krk Among the Best

The Simply the Best award celebrates excellence, creativity, and innovation in tourism, recognizing projects and individuals who contribute to higher-quality, more authentic tourism experiences in Croatia. The award is presented by the Association of Croatian Travel Agencies and the PUT Tourism Fair. This year’s ceremony was held on April 14th in Cres, where representatives of the City of Krk were deservedly among the award recipients.

It is particularly encouraging that as many as three representatives from Krk – Krk Winter Trails, Kušaonica Magriž, and Association Kreativni Krk – were selected among the top five in their respective categories, thereby also becoming winners of the traditional national annual Simply the Best award. This recognition of quality further emphasizes the continuous development of innovative, authentic, and sustainable tourism products on the Island. Among the awardees, a creative breakthrough in the souvenir category should also be highlighted - KuSshh, a black olive liqueur that successfully combines local tradition with a modern approach to product development.

Krk Winter Trails – A New Boost for Winter Tourism

The Krk Winter Trails project was recognized in the category of new tourism projects implemented within the system of tourist boards. It is an innovative winter outdoor program that encourages the development of year-round tourism, offering visitors an active stay in nature outside the main season.

Through carefully designed Hike & Bike tours, the project connects recreation with the interpretation of natural and cultural heritage, while involving local products and stakeholders – from family farms to outdoor organizations. The program includes themed events such as the Epic Rides Winter Special and interpretive walks, significantly contributing to the diversification of the offer and the long-term competitiveness of the destination.
